Walter Veltroni
Buonvino e il caso del bambino scomparso (Buonvino and the Case of the Missing Child)
A novel, Marsilio, November 2020, 256 pages

The second chapter of the Villa Borghese series.

It is the summer of 2020. Between hopes and fears, people in Rome are leaving behind the long quarantine imposed by the pandemic. A year after brilliantly solving the terrible case of dismembered bodies, Commissioner Buonvino is still living his moment of glory, even if in reality he can’t wait to get out of the spotlight. When a girl approaches him to ask him to investigate his younger brother, who disappeared years before and was never found after a trip with his family in the park of Villa Borghese, Buonvino becomes passionate about that cold case with dark implications and decides to help her. Alongside him in the investigation there is always his shabby team of agents, supplemented by two new entries who do not fail to create havoc, both among the men and in the heart of the commissioner. Unraveling the bundle of that story that destroyed an entire family, however, will put a strain on the investigative skills of Buonvino and his “backwards magnificent seven”, bringing to light disconcerting truths and mysteries that have remained dormant for too long.
